(“…strong force invades security and space
with heavy weight of snow and wind…”
from the poem, snow and wind….
by Daoud SARMAD
as snow and wind invades
a foreign force invaded
what was secure space
and breached our fences
clad in black with sword in hand
and death in mind it came
to shed the blood of farmers
it came and took our farm
the fence is gone
a conquering force
has overrun and taken
once familiar territory
they wanted more than blood
they wanted more THAN LAND
they stepped upon the dreaming
the unborn and the sleeping
this army grabbed our land
and wanting even more than land
it trapped our innocence
it reached out for our souls
Till even the bird are killed
Even birds with broken wings
Killed to take their land
By the INVADERS
LIFE PASSES, life GOES on
Birds braved the “snow and wind”
The nightmare GOES on
Repeat, repeat, repeat
